ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES FOR FILM ENTRIES

The following points should be considered when submitting film entries:

  • Do not overload films with text, this competition is looking for striking images, be it still or moving, which address environmental issues.
  • Whilst the judges are keen to see images and films with strong, thought provoking messages, they do not expect entries to overly preach, i.e. do not just get on a soapbox, be clever with the message you are conveying.
  • The film category is for moving image rather than an edit of still images.
  • Consider how the story or message develops in your film.

FAQs

The entry fee is £15 per artist/photographer.

At the initial stage, all still photographs must be submitted as JPEGs, saved at a high quality level, e.g. 10 in Photoshop, Adobe (1998), with a maximum file size of 5MB. Please check the Digital Specifications and Digital Adjustment Guidelines on the Rules and Guidelines section of this website for further details.

Check that each of your image files are 5MB or less and that they are the accepted file types (either JPG, TIFF, or PNG.) If you still encounter problems, please contact the website administrators by email.

Yes. Each entrant can submit up to 10 entries, which can be a mix of both still photography and film. Please ensure you follow the guidelines for submitting film entries, as detailed in the Digital Specifications of the Rules and Guidelines section of this website.

Entrants are asked to provide additional information about each image or film. Therefore in the ‘Statement’ section on the entry form, please give a short statement about yourself and your work (where the photo was taken, why you selected this location, etc). If selected for exhibition, the organisers will ask you for a more detailed description for inclusion in the exhibition catalogue and for publicity purposes.

The organisers will be responsible for the printing and framing of all images for the exhibition.

You can enter up to 10 photographs or films to be considered for one or a mix of the award categories.
